I didn't get a chance to make a polymer clay doo-dad hanger for my sign this month, so I hung up a wooden snowman I painted years ago.

The reason I didn't have time? Well, it's not because I was working on a new book like I should have been...

I bought some beads to use on my polymer clay projects and then somehow fell down the rabbit hole of making bracelets!

Jewelry-making was never part of the plan, I promise!

So, if I don't sleep a wink for the next 50 years, maybe I'll have time to make all the clay magnets and jewelry I want to. (And that doesn't even include my To Be Read bookshelf!)

Be careful with the slippery slope that is crafting...
You might get gobbled up in it and forget about everything else!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some things that need sequins added to them...

It was definitely worth the time to add all the extra details.

I originally planned to change the new chalkboard every week for the Christmas season because I have so many ideas for it, but this one turned out so cute that I just might have to leave it 'til New Years!

Seasonal Last Name Sign ~ Polymer Clay Turkey

Gobble, gobble!

I made this polymer clay turkey for my seasonal sign using the flower petals from a daisy cookie cutter...

I didn't plan on making him entirely out of petals, but you know how it goes, once I started, I couldn't bring myself to stop!

My template was just a clip art photo I printed out on card stock...

I'm really happy with how he turned out and will be sad to put him away after Thursday.

But, the good news is that Christmas is coming and I'll have something new and festive to hang up in his place!

I haven't drawn on a chalkboard since I was a little kid, but when the new one for my office was delivered, the first thing I did was draw a happy Bob Ross mountain.

I didn't even use my new chalk markers, I just grabbed a stick of good old fashioned Crayola chalk and had a little fun.

There's something about chalk dust that brings back memories from childhood, isn't there?

Next time I'll use a template, a pretty font and my fancy new markers, but this time I just drew what was in my heart.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to make you happy. And when you get down to it, that's what creating art is all about, isn't it?
